I am proud to introduce you to our newest monthly columnist, Philip Athans! Answering my open call on twitter for once a month columnists, Philip’s first post will go live today at noon.
Philip has been a writer since he first put crayon to paper. An avid role-player since the 70’s, he credits Robert E. Howard, Edgar Rice Burroughs, and R. A. Salvatore as inspirations for his fantasy style. He is the former senior managing editor for book publishing at Wizards of the Coast, and is absolutely convinced that PEOPLE WILL READ AGAIN!
His professional career began with a short story published in the science-fiction magazine Starshore and moved on to novels. He is the author and editor of many Forgotten Realms novels, including the superb Watercourse Trilogy. He is most recently the author of The Guide to Writing Fantasy and Science Fiction a must buy for any potential author in the genre!
Follow him on Twitter: http://twitter.com/PhilAthans
And follow his blog, Fantasy’s Author’s Handbook for advice on the art and craft of writing fantasy!
Or read a horror novel by Athans in blog form at Completely Broken. Updated every Friday!
I am awfully glad he is here! I have long been a fan of his work (I believe I own nearly every FR book he has written or edited) and I’m sure you will be too.
