I found out about this free ebook when the author in question took out an ad on my website, but I thought that since he was giving the book away for free, he deserved a mention in a post as well.     Oh my, I remember this book. There was a time when amazon was swamped with reviews that consisted of one sentence about the actual book and then an endorsement of "The Unsuspecting Mage".
    Finally I decided to buy the book. It was awful - a badly written Young Adult novel full of stereotypes, wooden characters and a plot straight out of a role play game. It's even written in present tense :-(
