Grasping for the Wind now available on the Amazon Kindle

Yesterday, Amazon rolled out a Kindle for blogs beta system, and I was one of the lucky few to get invited to publish my blog on Kindle. So now, if you own a Kindle, you can subscribe to Grasping for the Wind with just a click of a button. Currently, the cost to subscribe is $1.99 per month (Amazon determines the price, not me), but you can get a 14 day free trial to see if you like subscribing to the blog in via Kindle.
Even if you do not buy the Kindle version of Grasping for the Wind, you can still help me out by clicking through to the page and writing a quick review of the blog. The more recommendations I get, even if it is just a star rating will help my blog’s promotion.
You can also help me out by clicking through the link and subscribing to other
Kindle Blogs, as this will help me with promotion as well.
And don’t worry, all of my content is still free right here, so don’t feel you have to buy the Kindle version. It is just one more convenience I wanted to give my readers, and now you have it.

  1. John that is fabulous news for you but who is Amazon kidding? Two bucks per blog subscription? Once you are connected the internet is free. Imagine converting all your blog subscriptions to this formula. Bankrupt city. All the more power to them but smells of greed to me. Ebooks are already avariciously priced.

I’m with you on the pricing, and I’m trying to get it lowered to $0.99, but even so, I would rather people come here by internet and give the money away to a charity instead. Still, I have had a few Kindle using friends ask if they could get the blog on their Kindle, and now they can.
Still, I don’t recommend paying for something you can get for free.
My content, in particular, ain’t worth that much.
Personally I had hoped price could be set by the owner (which would be a good suggestion to Amazon I think) cause I would have done it free or at a penny a month. That was my original intent until I learned amazon determines the price for you.

  3. Interesting. I had no idea this was possible. Thanks for the tip — I set this up for the Fantasy Literature blog, too.
Like you, I don’t see why anyone would read it that way instead of for free on the internet, but I guess some people must prefer to do it that way. It doesn’t cost much and it may be a lot easier on the eyes (and you can read it anywhere).

John, that’s good for you. But I don’t like any e-book reader. A book is a book when it is made of paper. And why should I buy a kindle when I have a laptop and pay for content which I can get for free.

John, one more thing. I wanted to support you be writing a review. BUT I only have an amazon.de and an amazon.uk account where I purchased books. And these are the rules from amazon.com for writing a review:
“Want to write a customer review?
To write a customer review: you must have used this account to complete a purchase* of an item from Amazon.com. Please wait 24 hours after your first purchase before writing a review.
If you have another account: and you have already used it to make a purchase, you can sign into that account to write a review.
I hope you will understand that I don’t want to buy at amazon.com. The shipping rates to Europe are really expensive.
So I’m really sorry that I can’t support you.

Not a problem edifanob. I have not objections at all. Of course, you could buy an mp3 or something digital instead of something requiring shipping. Heck, you could probable even download some of th free mp3s, since that counts as a “purchase” if you want to try that.

Thank you for your mail and your comment. Didn’t know that free mp3’s count as purchase. That is an alternative.
