Marie Brennan on writers playing RPGs

Marie Brennan reacts to Justin Howe and Jason S. Ridler’s “Of Dice and Men” at Clarkesworld magazine. Apparently, Midnight Never Come is based on an RPG, but you would never know it. I didn’t, till I read this post. Says Brennan, “the fun of storytelling in games builds my enthusiasm for writing — even when it doesn’t turn directly into fiction.”

…Justin Howe and Jason S. Ridler’s claim in “Of Dice and Men” at Clarkesworld magazine that playing or writing RPG’s ruins your writing.
Howe and Ridler never make any such claim. Did you read the Clarkesworld article?

Sorry, you are right, they never did. I read the article, but skimmed rather than read carefully. I will modify this post to reflect. Thanks for the correction Kynn.
